Membership in Lewiston Auburn Senior College is $25/year, non-refundable and runs from July 1  to June 30.

Please "register" for this "class" to renew or become a member. 

Benefits of membership include access to clubs, free one day classes, and courses at all Maine Senior Colleges.

Discussions and Simulations in 19th Century European History

IN-PERSON at APL
This course will use discussions and simulations to explore 5 topics in 19th Century European history. The 5 topics will be The Napoleonic Wars and results, the Industrial Revolution, Socialism and the Revolutions of 1848, Nationalism in Italy and Germany, Causes of the First World War. Student participation will be an intrinsic requirement of the course.

Anita Denis is a native of Lewiston who attended St. Dominic Academy. She earned her BA at Rivier College and her MA at Rhode Island College in History. She taught History and Social Studies in Rhode Island and in international schools for over 40 years and retired in 2012.

A slot canyon in Arizona is a magical place, but few people know about it or have visited it. It sits on Navajo Land and is not part of any state or national park.

Alan has been part of Senior College since 2005 and has taught over 75 courses. There are still subjects that he is researching and planning to teach.

Mary Jane challenges YOU to have some virtual fun, in this ZOOM only Game Night. You may know Pictionary from way back, but this a modern twist using ZOOM’s white board feature. You do NOT have to be able to draw, or know how to use the whiteboard to participate.

Mary Jane has discovered Zoom’s lighter side. We can play games safely with our friends across the state and around the world.

We will be knitting a dish cloth from start to finish.

Sue has been knitting for over 40 years. She would like to see more people knitting.  She is willing to share her knowledge with others and assist them in mastering a creative way to make gifts for themselves or others.

So varied, so lovely, so, so many! Join me as I visit some my English cousin's favorites, from the very small, like William Cowper's garden in Olney which inspired John Newton to write "Amazing Grace", to the magnificent Kew Gardens.

Judy loves to garden, but now has an inferiority complex after seeing so much botanical loveliness.
