Ever enjoyed watching Downton Abbey and wanted to know more about the poetry of that golden age before the Great War and the turmoil that happened during it? We will look at the lives, times, and work of sixteen of the great British poets of that period, including Hardy, Housman, Yeats, Brooke, Sassoon and Owen. 

Jenny Doughty is originally British but has lived in Maine since 2002. Her poems have appeared in, several literary magazines, reviews and anthologies. Her book Sending Bette Davis to the Plumber was published in 2017. She has enjoyed teaching the British poetry she loves to fellow Mainers through Senior College for the last two years.
